Obituary
OREGON-Mildred J. Nordhaus, age 86, died on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in Fitchburg, as a result of a traffic accident. She was born on Nov. 1, 1923, in Oak Park, Ill., to Johannes and Esther Anderson. Mildred married Harold Nordhaus on May 9, 1947. He preceded her in death in 2005. Mildred is survived by daughters, Susan (William) Stack of Oregon, and Nancy (Timothy) Dummer of Oak Park, Ill.; grandchildren, William (Amy) Stack of Madison, Patrick (Melissa) Stack of Belleville, Matthew (Catherine) Stack of Worcester, Mass., Kathryn Stack of Oregon, and Tracey Dummer of Oak Park, Ill.; great-grandchildren, Autumn, Aidan and Kiera Stack; and a brother, Karl (Pat) Anderson of Glen Ellyn, Ill. A memorial service will be held in celebration of her life at PEOPLES UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 103 Alpine Parkway, Oregon, at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 31, 2010, with the Rev. Jon Claude Bartlett presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Private inurnment will be at Acacia Park Cemetery, Chicago, Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peoples United Methodist Church Building Fund, Diabetes Research Institute Foundation or American Cancer Society.
