Marion K Hess

MADISON-Marion K. Hess, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at St. Marys Hospital. She was born on Aug. 13, 1915, in Baraboo, the daughter of Ben and Mary (Seils) Kamrath. Marion eloped with Edward Hess on Sept. 18, 1937, in Crown Point, Ind. Marions husband, Edward, worked at the Frank J. Hess and Sons Cooperage in Madison, the largest cooperage in Wisconsin. She worked for the state of Wisconsin for 37 years. Marion and Edward traveled both inner nationally and internationally during their retirement. She is survived by her nephews, Jim (Barb) Hess, Toby Hess, Gary (Marilyn) Hess, and Tom (Cheryl) and Steve Kamrath; nieces, Shirley Swanson, Mary Holan, Linda (George) Ennis, Nicki Kamrath, and Johnna (Steve) Banas; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; two brothers, Ralph and Lloyd; and sister, Helen. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2010. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, May 17, 2010. Cemetery: Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park.
