Normal 0 STOUGHTON- Leah E. (Tootie) Walker, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 3, 2010, in Stoughton. She was born in 1922 to Benjamin Taylor and Ethel (Breidenstein) Taylor, in Ontario. Leah married John L. Walker on March 26, 1955 in Gresham, Oregon. Her passion in life was her children and grandchildren. Leah loved spending time with them and hearing about their lives. She and John spent several years traveling around the country after retirement; then settled down in Stoughton to be closer to family. Surviving Leah is her husband, John; two sons, Alan (Joy) Walker of Albany, and Kevin (Melissa) Walker of Iron Ridge; one daughter, Deb (John) Solis of Stoughton; five grandchildren, Chris (Weiss) Walker of Monroe, Brad (Betsy) Walker of Winona, Minn., Emily (Doug) Leskee of Sious Falls, S.D., Justin (Amber) Solis of New Baden, Ill., and Ryan (Heather) Solis of Dayton, Ohio; seven great-grandchilren, Nikolai Walker, Danika Walker, Morgan Walker, Allison Walker, Haylie Solis, Austin Solis, Joshua Solis; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Ethel; three sisters, Cleo McDaniel, Glida Conant and Ruby Walker; four brothers, Kenneth Taylor, Dale Taylor, Pete Taylor, and Clyde Taylor; her first husband, Albert Nimtz and their son, Jerry Nimtz. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at CHRIST THE KING COMMUNITY CHURCH, 401 West Main St., Stoughton, on Saturday, April 10, 2010, with Rev. Ron Dobie presiding. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy 51, Stoughton, on Tuesday, April 6, 2010. The family wants to express their appreciation to Mary Cone, Judy Nichols, Peggy Kluge, and Kitty Rossing, all of Dane County Long Term Support, the 3rd floor staff at Stoughton Hospital, Hospice and Leahs many friends and relatives for their support during this time.
Visitation:
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Hwy 51, Stoughton, on Tuesday, April 6, 2010.
Service:
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at CHRIST THE KING COMMUNITY CHURCH, 401 West Main St., Stoughton, on Saturday, April 10, 2010, with Rev. Ron Dobie presiding.
