Dott, Carl LeoMONONA-Carl Leo Dott, age 84, of Monona, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at St. Marys Hospital. He was born on Jan. 2, 1926, in Sun Prairie, the son of Leo and Adeline (Schernecker) Dott. Carl graduated from Sun Prairie High School. After high school, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. When Carl was honorably discharged from the Navy he attended the Wisconsin School of Electronics. After his graduation, he started his 35 year career with RESCO. Carl married Arlene Ulvestad on June 29, 1946, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. His pride and joy were his family, especially the grandchildren. Carl is survived by his wife of 64 years, Arlene; son, Stephen (Candace); grandsons, Alexander, Nicholas, Christopher and Zachary; great-grandson, Landon; sister-in-law, Beatrice Kalscheur;and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 26, 2010, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, with full military honors. Memorial contributions can be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church or St. Marys Hospital. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Marys Hospital ICU for their compassionate care. Also, a special thanks to Sister Clement Sabol.
