Letlebo, James B.
DEERFIELD-James Bartel Letlebo, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Jim was born on Jan. 31, 1929, in Madison, the son of John and Ethel (Roberts) Letlebo. He married his childhood sweetheart, Josephine Hoffer on Aug. 26, 1950. Jim served as Electricians Mate First Class for the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed on the U.S.S. Allegheny which made sonar maps of the ocean floor in the Atlantic Ocean and the Persian Gulf. Jim worked for MG&E for more than 40 years as a lineman. He was a former clerk of Ridge School for four years. Jim was very involved in the Oak Park 4-H Club. He was the club leader and project leader for electricity and wood work. Jim enjoyed feeding birds and building bird and wood duck houses. He also loved Ole and Lena jokes. Jim enjoyed having Sunday brunch with his boys and grandsons and daily breakfasts with his friends. He was always helping his family and neighbors. Jim is survived by Jo, his wife of 59 years; children, David Letlebo, William (Juanita) Letlebo, Jo (Mark) Fredrickson, Randy (Sandy) Letlebo and Christine Letlebo; six grandchildren, Eric, Jason, John, Tyler and Jacob Letlebo and Josiah Fredrickson; sister, Nancy Cox; sisters-in-law, Trudy Dyreson, Fritzie (Richard) Leighton, and Nancy (Mike) Foelske; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Martha Letlebo; and brothers-in-law, Bruce Cox and Paul Dyreson. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010, with the Rev. Dr. Charles Wolfe presiding. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2010. Memorials may be made to Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ.

Jo and Family: Am so sorry to hear about Jim. But from all the things you told me about him during our 'walks' he had a very good life with you by his side.
