Mr. Robert J. Segerson

Segerson, Robert J. MADISON-Robert J. Segerson, age 58, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2010 at HospiceCare Center. He was born on Nov. 2, 1951, in Madison, the son of Harold J. And Ailene (Lindsay) Segerson. Bob was in the U.S. Marine Corps from April 11, 1968 until March 11, 1972 and also served in Vietnam. He worked for Oscar Mayer Foods from 1974 until 1989, then went into business for himself a owner and operator of R.J.S. Services, a heating and cooling company. Bob was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, skydiving, and stock car racing. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Bob is survived by his son, Justin Segerson; daughter, Andrea Segerson; five grandchildren, Tyler and Bryce Segerson, and Janessa, Jasmine, and Emmanuel Bingham; mother of his children, Janine (Ralph) Hauptli; sister, Mary Kurt; nieces and nephews, Tamara, Thomas, Tonya, Jeffrey, and Jason; many great-nieces and -nephews; and his dog, Bart. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Thomas J. Kurt; and canine companion, Sam. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, with Chaplain Deborah Holbrook presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc. A special thank you to Bobs good friend, John Hermanson, for spending time with him, to Ralph and Janine for opening up their hearts and home to Bob during his illness, to all of the people who took special care of Bob throughout his illness, and Dr. Rock and the wonderful staff at HospiceCare.
