Obituary

Quamme, Virginia MargaretVirginia Margaret Quamme (nee Whitesitt) died April 16, 2010, at the age of 91. Loving mother of Sharon (John) Gallagher, Patricia (Van) Hall, and Cynthia (Howard) Hosely. Dear sister-in-law of Erna Ellestad and Elaine Quamme. Preceded in death by her sister and brothers Leona, Ralph, Harold, and LeRoy. Virginia attended Frank Allis Grade School and graduated from Madison East High School in 1936. She married Donald Quamme on June 22, 1938; he preceded her in death. She worked as a secretary for the Cirves Electric Company for many years and later for the Wisconsin Electricians Union. In her free time, Virginia enjoyed cross-stitching and reading. But by far her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren. She delighted in their every accomplishment and loved spoiling them rotten. Patrick and Shannon Gallagher; Bradley, Michael, Stephen, and Jason Hall; and Jennifer, Kyle, and Meghan Hosely are all left with many fond, happy memories of Grandma Quamme, as are their spouses. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren: Brecken Stotesbery; and Lindsy, Betsy, Adam, James, Madeline, Molly, Abey, and Angelique Hall. The family would like to thank Hospice Care for their wonderful comfort in Virginias final hours and Dr. Albert Musa for his many years of exceptional care. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m., on Monday, April 19, 2010, with the Rev. John Ruppenthal presiding. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.Quamme, Virginia MargaretVirginia Margaret Quamme (nee Whitesitt) died April 16, 2010, at the age of 91.
