McNamara, David William MADISON-David William McNamara, age 85, of Madison, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010, at HospiceCare. He was born on Feb. 15, 1925, in Montello, the son of Charles and Elsa (Lange) McNamara. David served in the U. S. Army from 1943 until 1945 during World War II, Battle of the Bulge, and the Korean War from 1952 until 1953. He graduated from UW-Madison in 1950 with a B. A. in history. David married Margaret Dolores Dunphy on Feb. 20, 1960, in Madison. He retired as curator for the State Historical Society. David enjoyed H O scale model trains, military history, including Russian military history, sports, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren and his cat, Abraham. He is survived by his wife, Dolores; daughters, Doreen McNamara (Brent Reznik) and Nancy (Donovan) Wright; and grandchildren, Ethan and Elsa Wright. David was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2010. Inurnment will be in Montello at a later date.
