Viola Rowe

PhotoRowe, Viola D. MADISON/HIGHLAND - Viola D. Rowe, age 87, of Madison passed away on March 26, 2010 surrounded by her loving family at University Hospital. She was born on October 19, 1922 in Highland Township, the daughter of George and Dorothy (Blabaum) Sittig. She married Francis on March 21, 1945 in Dodgeville. Francis and Viola farmed for 24 years in Highland, then moved to Madison, where Viola worked in food service at Mendota Hospital. Viola enjoyed quilting, family gatherings and liked to garden. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church for 45 years. Viola always had a way of getting people to smile or laugh through her special comments. Surviving are her loving husband of 65 years Francis; her daughters, Mary (Marvin) Cutrell and Mildred (David) Dahl; grandchildren, Tom (Julie) Cutrell, Dawn (Nathan) Weber, Barbara (Scott) Breneman, Mark (Fianc Tonya) Dahl; great grandchildren; Brendan, Tierney and Teague Cutrell, Mitchell and Zachary Weber, Katie and Alex Breneman, Caitlyn Sosinsky; sisters, Twila Grindle, Arlene Lindeman, Geraldine Rowen; nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Marion Grindle and Wynona Jones; and brothers, Nordeen and Ivan Sittig. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday March 30, 2010 at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee Street with Rev. Bernt Tweit presiding. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
