Bruns, Marjorie MargaretMiddleton-Marjorie M. Bruns, age 95, passed away at her home on Friday, March 26, 2010. She was born on July 23, 1914 in Hammond, Wis., the daughter of George B. Mennes and Minnie O. (Peterson) Mennes.Marjorie lived in Hamond, Wis., until she was 11 years old and then moved to Hudson, Wis. After graduating from high school she worked in Hudson for the Hudson Star Observer. Marjorie was assistant to the editor and since there were two people working on the paper, she did many things for the paper including proofed type, collected articles, collected advertising and wrote the social column. Marjorie married Edward George Bruns on Nov. 4, 1939. Marjorie and Edward moved to Hattiesburg, Miss., in 1940.,and lived in Gulfport, Miss., Minneapolis, Minn., and Elkhart Lake, Wis., before moving to the Madison area. Marjorie is survived by 3 children: Susan Elizabeth (Richard) Weigel, Marcia Kay (Frank) Polyak, Richard George (Kathy) Bruns; 5 grandchildren: Sara Elizabeth (Weigel) Wrzesinski, Lindsey Anne Weigel, David Edward Bruns, Dianna Rella Bruns and David Alexander Polyak. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward, and 2 sisters; Ruby Fossum and Georgia Thompson. Memorial services will be held at ST. LUKE\'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7337 Hubbard Avenue, Middleton, Wis., at 1 :00 P.M. on Thursday, April 1, 2010, with Rev. Roger Eigenfeld presiding. Inurnment will be in St. Luke\'s Cemetery. Cemetery: St. Luke\'s Cemetery. Service: Memorial services will be held at St. Luke\'s Lutheran Church, 7337 Hubbard Avenue, Middleton, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2010.
