Obituary

Bonano, Christina B. MONONA-On Tuesday, March 23, 2010, Christina B. Bonano entered into the kingdom of eternal rest with Jesus, her soulmate and husband, Tony, her parents, and brothers and sisters. She was born on July 24, 1916, in Madison, on the Hornung homestead which is now the site of St. Peter's Catholic Church near Cherokee, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Kurt) Hornung. Christina married Tony J. Bonano on Nov. 20, 1948, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Westport. She was the best baker in the whole world and a fantastic cook. Christina had a special love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a charter member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a member of the St. Anne's Society and International Club. Christina is survived by six daughters, Christina (Jan) Shade, Ann Rasmussen, Mary (Larry) Lebica, Pamela (Dennis) Stainbrook, Marsha (Rick) Hacker and Monica (John) Quale; 14 grandchildren, Andrew (Amy) Tennent, Marcus Shade, Tina Conners, Angie Murillo, Jeremy Lebica, Nicole (Brian) Lukens, Dennis (Jessica) Stainbrook, Melissa (Jacob) Hughes, Angela and Andrea Stainbrook, Monica and Ashleigh Hacker, and Tony and Christina Quale (fianc, Dave Heiliger); 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony in May 2009; parents; brothers, Peter, Ambrose, Joseph and Anthony Hornung; and sisters, Susan Hoffman, Elizabeth Hornung and Marie Back. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. A special thanks to Dr. Albert Musa, St. Mary\'s Hospital 5SW, Oak Park Place, and HospiceCare. Cemetery: Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation: Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Chris and family, I am so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I am sure that she is much happier now though and is having a great time with your dad. :) Much love to you, and I'll see you on Easter weekend. Caryl

Chris and girls Sorry to hear your mom pased, but i think she is probably happier in the hands of christ and with your dad they were always so close. Sorry i didn't get to the wake and won't be able to get to the funeral as we have plans already. I did not see the paper till Pete told me about Tina . My paryers are with you Rita and Bill Bliese
