Ellen Voelz

Voelz, Ellen (Tesch)MT. HOREB - Ellen (Tesch) Voelz, age 58, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at home, on March 26, 2010. She was born on Dec. 12, 1951, the beloved daughter of LaVern and Mary (Finley) Tesch. Ellen graduated from LaFollette High School in 1970 and attended UW-Oshkosh. She married Rick Voelz on May 12, 1984 in Middleton. She was a Realtor in the Madison, Platteville and Minneapolis markets for 25 years. Ellen also worked for and had a special fondness for the Platteville Middle School staff and students. She enjoyed Badger athletics, especially football and hockey. Ellen cherished being a wife and mother. She excelled at cooking, liked to travel and play golf. Ellen relished entertaining and welcoming people into her home. She loved the holidays and spending time with her family and friends. Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Rick; son, Evan (fiancee, Terri Johll); sisters, Susan (Thomas) Jarona, and Janet (Jim) Belligan, and Kim Pressentin; and brother, Jerry (Kristina) Tesch; She also leaves behind her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with Rosary at 7:30 p.m., on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, and at the church, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made in Ellen's name to Platteville Middle School, 40 East Madison St., Platteville, WI 53818-2139 To know Ellen was to know the joy of life. She loved many, and many loved her. She was genuine, compassionate and loyal. We will not forget her.
