Obituary

Price, Lillian G. MADISON-Lillian G. Price, of Madison, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. She was born in Green County, the daughter of John and Bertha (Muster) Gruber. Lillian married Maurice R. Price on April 20, 1948, in The Little Brown Church In The Vale in New Hampton, Iowa. She worked for the State of Wisconsin for 15 years at the Department of Transportation and the UW photo lab. She also worked as a banquet hostess for several local hotels. In her spare time, Lillian worked for the National W Club and Dane County Coliseum in the concession stands. She enjoyed camping with family and friends and being a proud member of the Wisconsin Campers Association, Portage Yellow Thunder Ramblers chapter. Lillian enjoyed going to their cottage in Eagle River. She also enjoyed square dancing with her husband in their earlier years. She was a 60 plus year member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Lillian is survived by her husband of close to 62 years, Maurice R.; daughter, Lynette "Lyn" (Bruce) Pauls of McFarland; son, Ronald M. (Mary) of St. Louis Park, Minn.; daughter-in-law, Nancy Smith of DeForest; grandchildren, Norman Smith III and Van Smith of Madison, Scott (Stefanie) Pauls of Deerfield, and Kevin (Marie) Pauls of McFarland; and great-grandchildren, Randy Dahl of DeForest and Sabrina Pauls of Deerfield. She was preceded in death by her son, Norman Smith Jr. in 2007; parents; and siblings. Funeral services will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee St., Madison, at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010, with the Rev. Mark Bartels presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or HospiceCare Inc. Special thanks to the staff in 5East, 4SW and the MICU at St. Mary's Hospital for their tender loving care. To the family of Maurice Price, We're so very sorry for the loss of your loved one. Carolyn Connolly sent us the obituary We are no longer members of WCA, but memories of Lillian will always be with us. We were members of the Hartford Y-Knots, but her work with WCA and the Portage Yellow Thunder Ramblers will be appreciated by all who knew her in WCA.
