Obituary
MADISON-Harriet A. Payne, age 68, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in Venice, Florida. She was born on August 18, 1941, in Newberry, MI., the daughter of Henry A. and Ruth (Rapp) Markwart. Harriet was united in marriage to Robert Payne on July 28, 1962 in Madison. A 1959 graduate of Engadine High School, Engadine, MI, she went on to further her education at beauty school in Green Bay. She was employed with John Deere Credit for many years, retiring in 2001. Harriet enjoyed cooking and traveling, especially cruises, but truly treasured most, the time she spent with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Living Christ and also of Redeemer Lutheran Church on Englewood, Florida. Harriet is survived by her husband, Bob of Verona; their children, Carla (Scott) Bollinger of Arvada, CO., Kathy (Mark) Gant of Oregon, and Dave (Sherry) Payne of Stoughton; her mother, Ruth Markwart of Engadine, MI.; sister, Janet Markwart of Verona and her grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Taylor, Tyler, Aaron, Hunter, and Aleaha. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services will be held at the LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE LIVING CHRIST, 110 N. Gammon Road, Madison at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 22,2010 with the Reverend Daniel Kowert presiding. Entombment will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:30 PM until the time of the service at the church, In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Living Christ or American Cancer Society Relay for Life fund. The family wishes to express a special thank you to everyone for all the loving care and support given.
Cemetery:
Entombment will be in Highland Memory Gardens.
Visitation:
Visitation will be on Monday from 5:30 PM until the time of the service at the church.
Service:
Funeral services will be held at the LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE LIVING CHRIST, 110 N. Gammon Road, Madison at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 22,2010 with the Reverend Daniel Kowert presiding.
