Ron Lee

Lee, Ron R.G.MADISON- Ron R.G. Lee, age 67, of Madison passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, March 13, 2010. He was born on July 5, 1942, in Mt. Horeb, the son of Vern and Helen (Scott) Lee. Ron farmed on the family homestead until he was 18 years old. He married Shirley Stegmann in 1964. Ron was a member of the Laborers Union #464 since the early 60s and the Operating Engineers Local #139 since Sept. 1979. He worked in construction from 1961 until his retirement in Jan. 2005. Ron was a member of the American Legion Post #481 as an S.A.L. and a member of the Grieg Club. He was a professional motorcycle racer, and was the State Champion Hill Climber in 1966. Ron was an avid fisherman, hunter, football fan and bowler. He also loved going to Canada to see his friend, Crash. Ron is survived by his children, Ronnie Lee of Deforest, Corrine Mulcahy of Windsor, Jerry (Robin) Mulcahy of Madison and Tammy (Steve) Meier of Missouri; grandchildren, Cassidy, Sydnee, Cooper, Tiffany, T.J., Tabitha, Dylan, Chance, Christina, Chad and Cortney; two brothers, Jim Lee, and Gary Lee; as well as his sweetheart, Sally Stutika; and good friend, Randy Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two children, Roger and Rebecca Lee; and a sister-in-law, Kathleen Lee. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2010.
