Martin, Elizabeth BettyMONONA/MADISON-Elizabeth Betty Martin, age 92, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2010. She was born on Nov. 6, 1917, in Marshfield. Betty married LaVerne Martin on May 31, 1941, in Marshfield. She worked at Rennebohms/Walgreens in Madison. Betty liked crocheting and loved bingo and cards. She is survived by her children, James (Maureen), Gerald (Sarah), Shirley Kay (Harold) Valdez, and Sharon (Lee) Remus; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and another on the way; and one sister, Rita Vanderwyst. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, LaVerne; and seven siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, March 15, 2010, and at the church on Tuesday, from noon until the time of service. Thanks to all those who comforted her in her final days.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to get to know your Mom. My weekly visits with her over the past five years have been wonderful. I'm sure she was welcomed into the gates of heaven with open arms and paws (Tiny). She will be missed.
