She was a liver transplant survivor for more than 15 years. She truly appreciated the special care she received from the staff of UW Transplant Services. Her many travels with Carol included, New Orleans, Jamaica, Aruba, Alaska and Washington D.C. Alice was a very special person who had many friends, especially among the people she worked with at Associated Physicians. She would like to thank her co-workers and Dr. Robert W. Olson for their thoughtfulness during her health problems. Also, she thanks the nurses, doctors, therapists, nursing assistants and office staff for their kind care at UW Dialysis (with a special note of thanks to Martha and Carl). Carol and her family send a special thank you to those at Meriter Hospital, especially her nurse Ashley in the Intensive Care Unit, who was so very kind to her and all of us. Alice is survived by two sisters, Theresa Bushaw and Lorraine Bushaw; her aunt, Marge Brodahl; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Carol Krebs Olson, her very best friend for nearly 40 years, and her extended family, Ken and Sharon Krebs, David and Marcia Krebs, Tammy Schlecht, Cameron Krebs, Derek Krebs and his children, Shylo and Derek A. We shared many great memories over the years through good times and bad times, a lot more good than bad. I will miss you everyday more than I can say.The following poem, written by Carol, is dedicated to Alice (a most unique person).Uniqueness of One.Each of us is a work of art,We all have a different face,And when we die we disappear,No one can take our place,So many have been before us,With zillions yet to come,But, the difference in our beings,Is forever, our uniqueness of one. Memorials: Memorials may be given to the UW Liver Transplant Program in Alice's name. Cemetery: After cremation, her remains will be sent to her sisters in Grand Forks, N. D. for burial. Service: It was Alice\'s request not to have a funeral.
