All the words can not convey the depth of our loss. Karol was the heart and soul of the Bureau and my hero. She was our Radar, Karol with a "K", and The Real Bureau Director. When she was enduring treatment, she was still organizing care packages for a co-worker on extended leave; When I forgot to plan a management meeting, she not only reminded me, but was there with a tentative date, place and agenda; When the grandbabies came, she plastered her cube with pictures; When life gave us joys, she glowed; When life sent any of us trouble, she found a way to help. We are all blessed that she was a part of our lives. The UI Family will miss her beyond words.

I knew Karol with a "K" for well over 30 years. She had so many friends and the UI family won't be the same without her cheerful smile and her kind words.When I'd walk by her desk she would ask....."I hope you're here to suspend me" when the answer was no she'd say "Darn, maybe next time"...I will miss her lots!

I knew Karol through friendship with her daughter. I always liked the way she laughed it was a rich pure laugh made me smile, she had a smile that made me feel welcome. I wish I had another chance to see it. I am sure she is smiling down at everyone.
