Obituary

Bishop, Donald L. Jr. FITCHBURG-Donald L. Bishop Jr., of Fitchburg, died peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, surrounded by family. He was born on Oct. 6, 1955, in Milwaukee. Don was known as the "Golden Palomino" during his high school football days at Shorewood High School and went on to play semi-pro football for several years. He was a graduate of UW-Milwaukee and a passionate follower of the Packers and Badgers. Don married Carol Jorgensen on May 15, 1982, and together they were blessed with two sons, Brandon and Trevor. Don was devoted to his family and delighted in cheering on his sons in their varied athletic and academic endeavors. He was a gifted coach and mentor to his sons, their friends, community youth and co-workers. Don was known for his deep, resonant voice and his love of public speaking. He used his talents working in the pharmaceutical industry, where he earned many awards throughout his career. Don is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, Brandon and Trevor; his father, Donald (Karen) Bishop Sr.; brothers, Brian (Debbie Faucett), Dave (Therese), Mark and Jeff; sisters, Debra Grimes, Laurel Rudolph and Amy Bishop; mother-in-law, Sally Jorgensen; sister-in-law, Becky (Don Lintner) Jorgensen; brother-in-law, Rob (Meredith) Jorgensen; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, June (Bogenschild) Schultz; and father-in-law, Elmer Jorgensen. Memorial services will be held at ALL SAINTS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2951 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, at noon on Saturday, March 13, 2010, with the Rev. Rich Johnson presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010, and also from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donors choice. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
