Obituary
Byrne, Margaret E.OREGON-Margaret E. Byrne, age 92, of Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Hospice. She was born on Jan. 27, 1918, in the Town of Linden, Juneau County, the daughter of William and Regina Rohrbeck. Margaret attended County Normal School for two years in Stevens Point and later continued her education in Platteville, earning her teaching degree. She married Joseph P. Byrne on July 10, 1945, in Wisconsin Dells. Margaret taught in many one-room schools in Sauk County. After moving to Oregon, she taught second grade in the Oregon school system from 1961 until 1981. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and very much enjoyed her time spent with her children and grandchildren. Margaret is survived by two children, Raymond (Chris) Byrne of Oregon, and Ann Byrne of Las Vegas, Nev.; three grandchildren, Greg (Jenny) Byrne of Racine, Tammy (Dan Grilley) Byrne of Evanston, Ill., and Tim Byrne of Oregon; a great-granddaughter, Brianna; brother-in-law, Everett (Esther) Byrne of New Berlin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 2006; sisters, Ruth Melvin and Esther Beghin; and brother, John Rohrbeck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010, with Father Bill Connell presiding. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Memorials may be made to Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church or HospiceCare Inc. A special thanks to the staffs at Hospice and Sienna Crest for their care and compassion.
