Obituary
MADISON - Edward "Ed" Malcheski, age 89, of Madison, passed away on Sunday February 28, 2010 at HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born December 26, 1920 in Pulaski, the son of Edward Henry and Angeline (Rozanski) Malcheski. Ed married LaVerne Gilbert on June 5, 1948 in Seymour. Ed is a 1938 graduate of Pulaski High School, a 1938 student of St. Norbert College, 1951 graduate of The University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science Degree and 1961 University of Wisconsin with a Masters Degree of Dairy Husbandry. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1941 - 1945. His career included being a farmer and cheese maker in 1948, County Agent in Iowa county from 1951 - 1955, Extension Dairy Specialist at the University of Wisconsin from 1951 - 1955, Farm Director at WISC-TV from 1961 - 1972 where he claimed he was the star of stage, screen and the barnyard, and owner of Farm Management, Inc. from 1962 - 2005. Ed is a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and the Blackhawk Country Club, and also a member of the Madison Sports Hall of Fame. He loved his family and playing golf. Ed is survived by his wife of 61 years LaVerne, son Scott Malcheski of Sun Praire, daughter Sue (Stuart) Johnson of Madison. 3 Grandchildren; Alan Malcheski, Michelle (Eric Nelson) Malcheski, Jennifer (Curt) Corbett. 2 great grandchildren Owen and Phoenix Nelson. Siblings; Sr. Helen Malcheski, Doris Malcheski, Mary Malcheski, John(Renie) Malcheski, Barbara(Gerry) Hussin and brothers-in-law Dr. R.M. Neseman and Ray Liss. Ed is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Wanda Liss and Jean Neseman, and Emerine Hughes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglade Dr. Madison, at 11:00 am on Saturday March 6, 2010 with Msgr Donn Heiar officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of the Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Saturday.
