Alt, Mary "Irene" MADISON-Mary "Irene" Alt, age 79, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at Oak Park Place. She was born on May 1, 1930, in Gotham, the daughter of Willard and Anna (Sittig) Muckler. Irene married Ted G. Alt on July 19, 1952, in Spring Green. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking, reading novels and socializing with her many friends. Irene had very fond memories of traveling with Ted. She is survived by her husband, Ted Alt; sons, Jerry Alt (Peni) and Jim (Barb) Alt; daughters, Debbie (Gary) Meyer and Sue (Greg) Haberman; grandchildren, Jason (Sara) Alt, Jerry Alt Jr., Jessica Alt (Joe), Aaron (Jenny) Alt, Tony (Lyndsey) Alt, Carisa Meyer (Ryland), Casey Meyer and Amber Beal; great-grandchildren, Ariel, Luke, Makyla, Mya, Aiden, Lilly Ann and Ashton; and a sister, Verna Muckler. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Vera Moy, Gertrude Alt and Freda Muckler; and brothers, Harold, Albert and Robert Muckler. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, with Father Francis Schmidt presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010.
