Photo/FlagRauch, Denis K.STOUGHTON-Denis K. Rauch, age 52, of Stoughton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at his home, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on June 9, 1957, in Anchorage, Alaska, the son of Donald E. and Ruby (Early) Rauch. Denis served in the U. S. Army. He married Maria Gomez on Dec. 27, 1986, in Oregon, Ill. Denis previously worked as a deputy sheriff with the Ogle County Sheriffs Department in Illinois. He then was self-employed as a roofing/siding contractor. Denis is survived by his wife, Maria; two children, Anne M. (Joshua) Sanftner of San Jose, Calif., and Denis K. Rauch Jr. of Stoughton; two grandchildren, Peyton Rauch and Jadon Sanftner; a brother, Bill (Mari) Rauch of Carroll, Iowa; and sister, Diane Leopold of Goodlettsville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey A. Rauch; and his parents. A memorial service will be held at MADISON BAPTIST CHURCH, 2323 Portage Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, with the Rev. Fred D. Weiss presiding and military services to follow. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Madison Baptist Church. Denis will be in our hearts forever.
