Lemke, Nathan JohnMONONA/COTTAGE GROVE - Nathan John Lemke, age 24, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, from undiagnosed dilated cardiomyopathy. He was born on Oct. 31, 1985, in Madison, the son of Kevin and Heidi (Knechtges) Lemke. Nathan graduated from Monona Grove High School in 2004 and was currently on the Dean's list at MATC in the sheet metal apprenticeship program. He worked in the apprenticeship program with Sheet Metal Workers' Union Local 565. Nathan was an avid sports fan, especially favoring the Brewers, and was very knowledgeable in sports statistics. He loved spending time with his family and friends, playing video games, and going to movies and concerts. Nathan also enjoyed working with his grandfather on game development and was a very loving grandson to his grandmother Helen. Nathan was very compassionate and concerned with others, always willing to help, and was a gentle and loving person who will be deeply missed. He had a contagious laugh and enjoyed doing comedic imitations. Nathan loved spending time at Lake Farm Park and Devil's Lake. He had a very strong work ethic and a zest for life. Nathan is survived by his father, Kevin (Ann) Lemke;sisters, Nicole Lemke, Natalie Lemke, Jenny Manz, Jessica Manz and Rachel Manz; brother, David Manz; grandmother, Helen Knechtges; aunts and uncles, Debra (Peter) Eisch, Laurie (Scott) Grove, Rick (Diane) Lemke, Jane (Dave) Ring, Jim (Laurie) Lemke, Eugene (Doreen) Grunewald, and Kathy (Pete) Fay. He is further survived by many other cousins, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Heidi; maternal grandfather, William Knechtges; paternal grandmother, Lorraine Finkler-Grunewald; aunts, Katherine Knechtges and Linda Feger;and cousin, Jeremy Grunewald. "You may only be someone in the world, but to someone else, you may be the world." Funeral services will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb.24, 2010. A time for Sharing for family and friends will be held at this time. Private burial will be at Blooming Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made in Nathan's name to the family. Our Nay-Nay, We are so sad to say goodbye to you, our only brother, the most genuine, compassionate, silliest goofball we've ever known. We will miss you so much, but we will find peace and comfort knowing that Mom will take care of you in Heaven. You will always be in our hearts. We love you "more than 50 lbs!" CoCo & Nat. .
