Phyllis McCarthy

McCarthy, Phyllis J.MADISON - Phyllis J. McCarthy, age 80, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, with her daughter at her side, after fighting Alzheimer's for many years. She was born on Aug. 19, 1929, in Argyle, the daughter of George and Helen (Tolakson) Alm. Phyllis married Theodore A. McCarthy. She was a clerk for Cowen Insurance Agency. Phyllis enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Bridgit (Scott) Johnston; three grandchildren, Connor, Travis and Zachary Johnston; brother, Donald (Deloris) Alm; and sister, Mary Louise (Jim) Bjorge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore;parents, George and Helen Alm; brother, David Alm; and sister, Patricia Alm. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 2 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010. Inurnment will be at Highland Memorial Gardens.
