Lyle Kong

Kong, Lyle UTICA/MONONA-Lyle Kong, age 86, died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. He was born on Aug. 10, 1923, in Utica, to Ole and Mable Kong. Lyle served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 until 1946. He lived and farmed in Utica for many years. Lyle worked for Uniroyal in Stoughton for 30 years. After retirement, he moved to Monona, where he leaves behind many friends. Lyle is survived by his children, Dean Kong, Diane (Roy) Fritz, Rollie (Cathy) Kong, Bonnie (Bob) Hufford and Beth Holzhueter;eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; siblings, Merril (Marge) Kong, Adeline Brickson and Arlene Kong; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Daniel Kong; brother, Orlin Kong; and his children's mother and his former wife of 32 years, Barbara Kong. A celebration of life will be held at VFW POST NO. 7591, 301 Cottage Grove Road, Madison, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010.
