Obituary
LaVeau, Eunice Caroline
STOUGHTON-Eunice Caroline LaVeau, age 81, went to be with the Lord suddenly on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at Meriter Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born on Nov. 4, 1928, in Sarona, the daughter of Clara (Magnus) and Victor LaVeau. Eunice married Eugene E. Brown Sr. on May 8, 1948, in Rice Lake. She worked for 19 years for the state of Wisconsin, Human Services Adoption Unit, retiring in June 1994. Eunice also worked for the state of Wisconsin, DILHR-WIN program, St. Mary\'s Hospital, birthing room as an aide, Wisconsin Life Insurance Agency, March Insurance Agency and sold Stanley Home Products and Avon, while living in Deerfield. She was a member of Lakeview Moravian Church. Eunice enjoyed cooking, needlepoint, crafts, reading and puzzles. Words cannot express how much her family and each person whose life she touched will miss her presence here on earth. Eunice was a devoted mother and grandmother with a selfless love, giving so much with so little wants for herself. Her love for the Lord was strong and ever weaving her life on earth. Our mother\'s death will leave an empty place in our lives but memories of her loving hugs and kisses, words of encouragement, her laughter, tender care and endless love for us all will live in our hearts forever. Eunice is survived by four sons, Ronald (Francine) Brown of Oroville, Calif., David Brown of Three Lakes, Gerald (Laurel) Brown of Deerfield, and Charles Brown of St. Germain; a daughter, Connie (Ronald) Arndt of Evansville; 10 grandchildren;15 great-grandchildren; and 43 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eugene E. Brown Jr.; a daughter, Cynthia Sue Brown; two infant twin grandsons; sister, Hazel McKennon; infant sister, Gladys Mae LaVeau; and brother, Victor LaVeau. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, with the Rev. Staci Marrese-Wheeler presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Memorials may be made to Lakeview Moravian Church.
