Allen Bloodsaw

Mr. Allen Lane Bloodsaw was born to the union of the late Leroy Bloodsaw and the late Bernice Long-Bloodsaw, on Sept. 4, 1950, in Chicago, Ill. He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized by Reverend Barnes at Faith Tabernacle Church of Jesus Christ in Chicago, Ill. He received his education at Betsy Ross Elementary and Englewood High School in Chicago, Ill. Allen Bloodsaw was united in holy matrimony to Mary Ann Greer on Nov. 2, 1979 and to this union four children were born, in addition to their other three children. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife, Mary Ann Bloodsaw; four daughters, Mary Greer Thomas of Norcross, Ga., Erica Greer of Madison, Frantia Bailey of Peoria, Ill. and Adrienne Greer of Madison; three sons, Allen Lane Greer (Rosemary) of Madison, Terrell Smith of Indianapolis, and Aaron Alfonzo Bloodsaw of Madison; 25 grandchildren; a brother, James Bloodsaw of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Bonnie Shelton of Chicago, Ill. and Frances Deal (Jacob) of College Park, Ga.; sister-in-law, Canary Davis of Madison; 29 nieces and nephews; and a host of great-nieces and nephews, and other relatives. Allen was preceded in death by four siblings, Leroy Jr., Shirley, John and Alfred Bloodsaw; four special brothers-in-law, Barry, Henry, George and William; two sisters-in-law, Loretta and Mary; and a special friend, Robert Siller. A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home Tuesday.
