Obituary for John P. Stoll

Stoll, John

FITCHBURG-A charming man with a larger than life personality was suddenly taken from us on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015. John Peter Stoll was a “jack of all trades” yet master of many. He was a dedicated family man, sportsman, musician, craftsman, cook, landscaper and loyal friend. It would be difficult to find a harder working American. His tremendous work ethic and attention to detail was evident in each project he undertook. Whether performing duties as a skilled ironworker or completing home improvement projects, his attention to detail was meticulous. John served in the U.S. Navy for four years and earned a B.A. from Iowa State University. John is survived by his beloved wife, Tamra; step-daughter, Anya; grandsons, Corvieair and Arhyus; brothers, Pat, Jim, Ed, Tom, Bob, Alan, and Jeff; sisters, Jane, Lois, Julie, and Ruth. He will also be missed by countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and four lively pets. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loras and Dola Stoll; niece, Becky Stoll; and nephew/ godson, Josh Steger. John was a proud member of The Local Ironworkers Union No. 383. He was 58 years old. A Memorial Tribute in John’s honor will be held at THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, CASEY HALL, 1405 Columbus Av., SE, Cascade, IA., at 2 p.m., on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015. In lieu of flowers, please send donation in John’s name to the Family Farm Defenders, P.O. Box 1772, Madison, WI 53701. Online condolences may be made at
