To Richard and Kathy's family: I worked with Kathy at DHS several years ago, and she was always such a positive, open, joyful person. I enjoyed running into her just to catch up on news, and I recall how happy she was when she met and married Richard. I'm truly sorry that she is gone now. My condolences to all of her family and dear friends. Eleanor Cautley

What a dear, joyful presence she was. My lasting memory of Kathy is of the beaming girl with corkscrew curls, racing to our shared locker at the high school each morning, barely in time for her first class. That locker was a mess. I don't know how she found what she needed there, or if she got to class on time. I was simply dazzled by her joyful confidence. I know her family must be heartbroken right now, and my heart goes out to you all.

To the Family and Friends of Kathy: I am so sad to hear of Kathy's passing but am so happy to know that she is definitely with our forever father in heaven. I've known Kathy since high school and will never forget her infectious smile. I remember a time at the farm where Kathy and me were watching Wilbur the bull participating in one of his passions in life. It always brought a smile to my face to think of Yelkie. I was able to see her a couple of years ago at a fundraiser for a dear friend of ours from H.S. Everyone that knew Kathy loved her. With deepest sympathy to all, Debby Schroeder

To Friends and Family of Kathy - I'm shocked and saddened to hear of Kathy's passing. As a high school classmate, Kathy and I share many wonderful memories of growing up together. Although many years and miles have separated us, there's always been a connection. Please know I share in your sorrow of this loss; she's all too young. Kathy will be missed by anyone who knew her. My sympathy, Kim Camery Millick

We have known Kathy for a very long time, and in addition to her amazing smile and bubbly personality, we know well the beautiful and loving family she comes from. Her sister Marcy, is our sister-in-law and through the years We've been blessed to know the entire Yelk family. I have always been touched by the loving kindness of each of them and the love and respect they have always had for one another. Kathy, you were blessed here on earth, and may you be blessed in your life hereafter. While you will be dearly missed by all those who have loved you, we know that Roger & Marie hold you tight in their arms once again...and smile... Pam & Loren

I had the distinct pleasure of working with Kathy on a couple of cases. Even throught some of the difficult work we had to do, she always exuberated a professional, positive attitude that was infectious. After we won our cases, Kathy and I would see each other here and there. She would greet me with that "so glad to see you" smile that I will never forget. My deepest condolences to the family for your loss.

Days have been very long for everyone at the Estate Recovery Program without our ' special Kathy'. There is such a void with her not here with us to guide us with her passion. Her 'peeps' will always hold a special bond to an amazing lady in all our hearts. She took special interest in everyone of us and our lives. Whether for graduations, weddings, sons/daughter/husbands, babies or grandbabies, she was family to us all. Rest in peace Kathy

Didn't recognize the last name, but that smile you could never forget. Kathy exuded positive energy whether at parent-teacher conferences or a Badger Football road game. At the top of my list of all-time favorite parents. Through the pain please celebrate how special your mom was. Please accept my deepest condolences. Ken Eeg

Kathy was my roommate right out of high school. We shared a 1 bedroom apartment just a few doors down from State Street with 2 other girls (4 in one room!). Together we traveled to Florida and Colorado. We had so many good times together. She was such a fun and loving person. I am going to pull some photos together from our many adventures. I am so sorry for your immense loss. I will miss her very much. Joan Reisdorf Janssen

To Kathy's Family, I would like to send you my condolences and am truly sorry for your loss. I went to HS with "Yelko" there was always laughter and that contagious smile of hers that lit up a room when she entered it. Vivacious, full of life and will be missed dearly, way too young to leave us... Sincerely, Chris Chaussee

Kathy and I shared one of God's greatest gifts, our grandchild, Kendall Marie. In blizzard conditions we showed up at that hospital in Green Bay, a bond between two women never to be broken. When all was good, and the new family went to bed exhausted, Kathy and I went to the only store that sold baby clothes that late at night, Walmart! I called her Thelma, and she called me Louise. So at 10:30pm, we drove that shopping cart, side by side, throwing everything pink and purple into that cart from the baby section, laughing and chanting, Kendall Marie! When I meet up with that beautiful woman in heaven, we will have to get together when more grand babies and great grand babies, and great great grand babies are born and thank God for uniting our children. Until we see her again, may God comfort and bring peace to Kathy's family, for she was so loved and will be sorely missed. Lovingly, Mary Zellmer, 'the other gramma'
