Obituary for Fonzo G. Kyle

MADISON - Fonzo Gilbert Kyle, age 97, passed away peacefully into eternal life March 2, 2017, with Geraldine, his wife of over 72 years, by his side at their home in Madison. He was born Aug. 22, 1919, in Weatherford, Texas, to Ethel Mae (Hopkins) and William Beverly Kyle; one of 11 children. As part of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, he served in France and various parts of Europe. While stationed at Truax Field in Madison, he met and fell in love with Geraldine Keichinger. Kyle, as he liked to be called, was hired by Mr. Kayser at Kayser Ford in Madison, followed by owning his businesses: Kyle's Citi Service Gas and Repair, Kyle's Automotive Garage and Kyle's Skelly Gas and Repair. After retirement, he went to work for U-Haul; never a man to sit. He built and raced stock cars, loved horses, a good game of dominos, dancing, bowling, and traveling - mostly to Texas and the Kyle Family Reunions. He loved life with family and friends, always a smile on his face, gratitude in his heart and concern for others. He would say he was pretty good, and with a twinkle in his eye add, "mostly pretty". He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; daughters, Nancy Wilcox (Charles) Magestro, Gloria (Ron) Tyl and Monica Cochems-Kyle (Hawk); grandchildren, Jay (Janet) Wilcox, Cindy Wilcox (Brad) Patzner, Tony (Jenny) Magestro, Troy (Joni) Magestro, Jeffrey Revalee, Michael (Robin) Revalee, Christa (Sam) Wollin, Gina Tyl (Cody) Blair, Heather Tyl (Javier) Gonzalez and Dena Kyle; great-grandchildren, Colton and Kyle Wilcox, Elliana, Giada and Analia Magestro, Tyler and Kylie Magestro, Zachery Revalee, Amanda and Mike Revalee, Breanna Johnson, Jacob and Ryan Wollin, Taylor, Paige and Hope Tyl, and Savannah and Marcus Tyl; and also six great-great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters, Lynda Terry, Wanda (Don) Beck and Doris Browning; and sisters-in-law, Julie Kyle and Bosco Kyle (Willie) Bremer; and many other precious relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ed, JT, EL, Lawrence and Gene Ray Kyle; sisters, Juanita Baty and Sue Hill; daughter, Judy Adams-Bly; sons-in-law, Ron Wilcox and Jerry Bly; grandson, Rick Wilcox; brothers-in-law, Chuck Browning, Don Terry, Troy Hill and Ed Porter; and sisters-in-law, Lucille, Pauline and Vada Kyle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave, Madison, on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 12 noon, with Monsignor O. Charles Schluter presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of the Mass on Thursday. Kyle and family would like to thank the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, BrightStar and Agrace HospiceCare for their wonderful and compassionate care. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
