Obituary
MADISON – Dolores M. Anderson, age 85, passed away on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Nov. 23, 1929 in Columbus, the daughter of Carl and Hazel (Bonner) Hatzinger. Dolores attended a one-room schoolhouse for grades 1-8, where she was the only student in her class. Then it was on to Columbus High School where she graduated in 1947. Dolores moved to Madison and worked as a stenographer for the Department of Agriculture. In 1951, she married the love of her life, LeRoy "Andy" and together they raised six children. During that time, she worked as a teacher's aide at Schenk Middle School for 25 years and was a charter member of St. Dennis Catholic Church. Dolores and Andy enjoyed bowling for many years. She was an avid gardener and gourmet cook (at least her kids thought so). There was never a Cryptoquote that Dolores could not solve. She never missed any of her kid's high school sporting events, and was a faithful, lifelong LaFollette Lancer, Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer (and occasional Iowa Hawkeye) fan. Oh, how Dolores loved the holidays and took great pleasure in having everyone over to her house to celebrate. For the majority of her life, she took care of Andy, looked over her children, and spoiled her grandchildren. For her entire life, she never had a harsh word, and always had a smile. Dolores is survived for her children, Gary (DeAnn Schaefer) Anderson, Dean (Sherri) Anderson, Laurie (Gus) Knitt, Ross (Kari) Anderson, and Craig (Jan) Anderson; her 14 grandchildren, Cade and Cami Anderson, Hannah and Haley Anderson, Dylan, Amy and Austin Anderson, Rebekah and Nathan Knitt, Kea and Kyle Anderson, and Marie, Tom and Monica Anderson; and her two great-grandchildren, Avery Anderson and Ovidia Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy "Andy"; and son, Steve "Bubba" Anderson. Funeral services will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at Noon, on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will take place at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. Lastly, the Anderson boys would like to thank their amazing sister, Laurie for going above and beyond in her loving care of Mom these last few years. On Sunday, Sue and I happened to buy a Madison paper and saw your Mother's obituary. I remember going to a Badger basketball game with your family when Gary played. I know Dad thought a lot of both your Mother and Father, their days in Columbus and many reunions.. I gave them the obituary yesterday.

To all the Anderson Kids my sympathy to you . I was a neighbor of yours down the street on Sussex Lane. Your mom was so full of joy and pep. Mrs. Anderson was a great help in math while in 8th grade at Schenk Middle School. She was a very kind lady and mother figure to all the students. I would see her again when she would bring Craig to Dream Lanes as we were on the same bowling team. Had good memories of the Anderson brothers and the Lafollette basketball teams. Along with hanging out with Laurie and Gus.
